The Zhu Jiang, or Pearl River is an extensive river system in China, so named because of the pearl coloured shells found at the bottom of the riverbed as it flows through the city of Guangzhou.
By volume, the Zhu Jiang is the second largest in China. The Estuary is regularly dredged to allow access to ocean vessels. Sadly, it is also one of the most polluted rivers in the world. - Size - (A3) 11.69 x 16.53" Printed onto 300gsm Tintoretto Gesso Paper - This un-coated vintage paper has a delicately ‘hammered’ surface, similar to watercolour paper
